Welcome to the Gallé-Juillet Museum!

Located in the heart of the city of Creil, on Saint-Maurice Island, the Gallé-Juillet Museum brings together two houses built on the ground floor of the former medieval castle : the Gallé-Juillet Houe and the Faience House.
Gallé-Juillet House
One house, many stories
The Gallé-Juillet House tells the story of a Creil family from the time of the French Revolution through the First World War.
You will have the opportunity to visit the kitchen, the dining room, the living room and the bedrooms, where you can admire a collection of outstanding decorative arts collection (stamped furniture, works by the artist Emile Gallé, art objects, ceramics and paintings).
Then, let yourself be surprised by the smoking room, the boudoir, and by the tragic fate of the last child of the family, the soldier Maurice Gallé, brought to life through mementos from the First World War
The highlight of the visit: the treasure of Creil, made of several hundred silver and bronze coins dating from the 3rd century.

Faience House
The legacy of a manufacture
Cited by Gustave Flaubert in L’Education sentimentale, the earthenware factory of Creil was famous.
All along the 19th century, it produces a wide variety of decorative and utilitarian objects.
The most beautiful fine earthenware pieces of Creil were shown at the universal exhibitions and adorned the tables of bourgeois mansions.
Hundreds of pieces are now on display in the Faience House.
